About the Role
Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Blackburn VIC. They are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Project Advisor to come in and join their team on an 8 month temp contract with possible extensions.

Candidates for this role must have:
- Demonstrated payroll experience in a complex environment, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll controls.
- Strong knowledge of superannuation legislation and employer obligations, with experience reconciling and validating payroll-related superannuation data
- Experience supporting the transition from manual to system-based payroll processes, including payroll system implementation, integration, testing, and validation of payroll outputs.
- Experience reviewing payroll processes, identifying gaps and risks, and implementing practical process improvements
Key responsibilities will include:
Data Reconciliation & Compliance: Lead superannuation data reconciliation and validation projects to resolve discrepancies and ensure regulatory compliance.
System Implementation & Testing: Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to implement, test, and validate an electronic timesheet solution and its payroll outputs.
Process Optimisation & Audit: Coordinate payroll process and system configuration reviews to eliminate operational gaps and strengthen internal controls.
Data Analysis & Risk Mitigation: Analyse payroll data to investigate anomalies, resolve processing issues, and mitigate operational risks.
Documentation & Change Management: Develop project documentation, procedures, and control frameworks to support compliant and improved payroll practices.
About You
You will be an experienced Payroll project professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated payroll experience in a complex environment, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll controls.
