About the Role:
Reporting to the People Services & HRIS Manager, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll services for the organisation. This role is responsible for processing payroll for approximately 700 employees and providing expert advice on all payroll-related matters. We are ideally seeking someone who can make an immediate impact in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing for approximately 700 employees.
- Critically, interpret and accurately apply the provisions of a complex Enterprise Agreement (EA) and relevant legislation to all payroll functions.
- Provide expert, authoritative advice to managers and employees on payroll matters, including superannuation, leave entitlements, salary packaging, and compliance.
- Conduct regular payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance reporting to ensure compliance with ATO, Fair Work, and superannuation requirements.
- Maintain high levels of data integrity across the payroll (Aurion) and rostering (Tanda) systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency, automation, and governance.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience with the Aurion payroll system.
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume, end-to-end payroll position
- Demonstrated high-level ability to read, interpret, and accurately apply complex Enterprise Agreements and legislation to payroll functions.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Experience with a time and attendance system (Tanda) is highly desirable.
