About the Role
Our client is a large VIC government organisation based in Melbourne CBD. They are urgently seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to come in and assist them on a 6 week temp assignment with potential for extension.
Candidates for this role will ideally have:
- Proven high volume end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Chris21 payroll system experience
- Previous government experience
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation including NES, taxation, and superannuation
- Experience around calculations and transactions for leave, salary changes, pay adjustments, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Payroll Delivery: Manage full-cycle fortnightly payroll via Chris21, processing everything from new starters and salary changes to complex terminations.
- Compliance & Data Integrity: Ensure all payroll transactions are accurate, compliant with legislation, and processed strictly within required timeframes.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate and distribute fortnightly, monthly, and ad-hoc payroll and HR reports to provide actionable business insights.
- Financial Reconciliation: Support General Ledger integrity by assisting with payroll journals, employee provisions, and superannuation remittances.
- Stakeholder Support: Act as a customer-focused point of contact for payroll queries, collaborating effectively with HR, Finance, and Talent Acquisition teams.
- Records Management: Maintain precise personnel files, databases, and procedural documentation in line with corporate record-keeping requirements.
About You
You will be a highly experience Senior Payroll professional with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.
The successful candidate will possess:
