Reporting to the Director, People & Performance this role is responsible for the provision of all governance, risk audit, assurance and policy service for the Agency. Developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a sound culture of risk management, audit and compliance responsibility within the Agency.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the level of awareness and knowledge of risk management, audit and compliance responsibility is constantly improving across the Agency.
- Oversee, develop and manage robust agency policy, including reviewing and drafting policies and procedures to ensure legislative requirements are maintained.
- Provide feedback and consultation related to existing or emerging risks, internal controls, compliance matters, risk assessments and audit findings.
- Manage Freedom of Information (FOI) for the Agency including and not limited to planning, managing, and providing advice relating to FOI requests against the Freedom of Information Act 1991.
- Manage and be responsible for the Agency’s Protective Security Framework and all associated activities.
- Preparing briefings, reports, papers, replies to correspondence and other Agency working groups and teams written material for the Director People & Performance.
- Contribute to a culture of continuously reviewing and improving planning, policies, services, and programs by developing effective process improvement initiatives and identifying performance bottlenecks, duplication, and inappropriate processes
Ideally you will possess:
- Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices as outlined in the ISO 31000-2009 Risk Management - Principles and Guidelines
- Significant experience in interpretation of legislation, regulation and corporate governance, preferably
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to produce high-level reports, briefings, letters and other written correspondence
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and recommendations to executive and senior level managers
