Position Overview
As a Senior Functional Analyst, you will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to design and develop solutions that align with the institution's strategic objectives. You will operate both independently and within dynamic teams comprising functional and technical experts, as well as external consultants, on a variety of engaging tasks. Regular reporting on progress and proactive communication with staff at all levels will be essential. You will also provide valuable consultative advice to stakeholders as needed.
Key Accountabilities
As a Senior Functional Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Engaging with key stakeholders throughout the solution design process to deeply understand user experience requirements. Applying established tools and methodologies to define, refine, and elevate the user experience in functional design.
- Translating intricate business needs into robust functional designs within the SDLC framework, consistently meeting quality and timeline expectations. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of system configurations and technical capabilities, and leveraging this understanding to propose innovative solution designs.
- Defining comprehensive UAT test scenarios, cases, tools, and methods based on business requirements and specifications. Effectively managing testing activities with testers to ensure that usability objectives are met.
- Maintaining meticulous documentation of all configuration items and related information.
- Providing support to the Change Manager in the documentation and execution of changes.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Minimum of 5 years of functional experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft and Fluid.
- Strong SQL skills are highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead complex analysis initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively eliciting and documenting detailed business and functional requirements.
- A consultative and open-minded approach, coupled with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and workshop facilitation abilities.
- A proactive and self-motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a multifaceted team.
- Adaptable and flexible, with the capacity to thrive in dynamic environments and deliver quality outcomes amidst ambiguity.
- Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC and experience across the entire project lifecycle.
- Experience working with both waterfall and agile project methodologies.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies.
- Highly motivated with a positive and proactive attitude, and a track record of taking ownership for delivering high-quality results.
- Previous experience within the higher education sector, including familiarity with the student lifecycle, is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a related field and/or equivalent professional experience is required.
