This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing finance team that supports a fast-paced, customer-driven marketing and digital division. Located in Melbourne, this role offers hybrid flexibility of three days in the office and two days from home.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Media Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing the paid media and Chief Digital and Marketing Officer (CDMO)’s budgets. You will be instrumental in driving budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives across the division, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and proactive business partnering.
Key Responsibilities:
... Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing meaningful insights and identifying risks and opportunities.
Perform monthly variance analysis, delivering clear, concise commentary to the CDMO and wider finance team.
Support business stakeholders during budget builds and submissions.
Manage purchase order approvals and cost allocations, ensuring adherence to budgets.
Maintain accurate expense tracking and forecasting using Excel and Power Query.
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve billing and payment queries.
Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and SAP reconciliations.
Conduct quarterly audits of media invoices and follow up on any discrepancies.
About You
You are a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. With a strong background in cost control and business partnering, you bring both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. You are excited by the opportunity to work with a leading brand in the beauty and retail space and are passionate about contributing to strategic financial outcomes.
You will bring:
5+ years’ experience in cost controlling, ideally within the FMCG or beauty/retail sectors.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work independently.
Strong Excel capabilities and a working knowledge of Power Query.
Experience with SAP and related financial systems highly desirable.
