The Role
As the Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring ongoing product performance and customer satisfaction by managing quality investigations, supporting new product validations, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working closely with Commercial and Technical teams, support product trials, manage expectations, resolve any technical, quality or customer concerns, and have a focus on quality improvement, customer satisfaction, and the seamless integration of packaging systems into the customers environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong customer relationships and act as a technical contact, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
- Lead and coordinate quality investigations, delivering detailed reports using standard and 8D CAPA formats.
- Manage the NPR Complaint System and Loss Control Database to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Support product trials, manage expectations, and resolve technical or quality issues.
- Assist in validating and commercialising new products, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and customer expectations.
- Generate technical documentation including data sheets and sales specifications.
- Conduct internal and external training on packaging applications and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with GMP and HACCP Food Safety requirements.
- Provide expert advice on packaging line integration and process improvements, including the role of fluid dynamics.
- Stay current with global best practices through collaboration with local and international teams.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor of relevant Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Process, etc.).
- Detailed experience in a quality or engineering role, ideally within the FMCG industries.
- Familiarity with flexible packaging, aseptic processing, injection moulding, extrusion, or lamination.
- Strong understanding of ISO management systems and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
- Demonstrated project management skills and successful cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.
- A confident communicator with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Located in Adelaide, with unrestricted work rights.
