      About the company The client are a national building construction and civil engineering company who are renowned for delivering major projects across Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.       The Firm A reputable, very well known and trusted contractor for Tier 1 builders in NSW. They supply, deliver and erect structural steel building frames for mixed Residential, Industrial and Commercial Builders in Sydney. They are solid loyal and have a repeat business footprint in their niche field, and to continue their success they are looking at adding a new Structrual Steel Estimator to thier team. Their strategic approach coupled with high commercial acumen and ability to only pursue high calibre driven and ambitious staff has allowed them to triple in size in the last 5 years. There employee’s are dedicated and satisfied, continually being challenged and promoted in their performance. The Role: With high commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills and a sheer passion for your work you will be required to work well autonomously, but also well within a team, communicating effectively with the Senior Estimator and other estimators daily. Your experience will have been gained working for a similar business and ideally pricing on mixed projects from $50,000 to $20 million AUD, structures from 5 tonne to 1500 tonnes. Ideal applicants: Can do positive and proactive attitude!Must have in depth knowledge in structural steel fabrication/welding and estimating steel structuresBe familiar with AS4100 & AS5131Have proven experience min 3+ years in structural steel, take off measures, estimating and tenderingMust have knowledge in surface treatments of steel structuresBe able to collect quotations from suppliers, and prepare tender packages for clients based on returnable schedules.Work hours 7am -16:30/17:00Have excellent verbal and written communication skillsBe very familiar with Excel, word and outlookGood knowledge of local contractors and suppliers.Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or TAFE in Building.Track record with winning projects valued over $2m.Well presented & excellent communicator / negotiator.Thorough understanding of construction methods and standards for tender submission.Ability to communicate and handover tender strategy to relevant parties Culture & Benefits: Their approach to their work is based on a happy internal culture, their offices are large and spacious and Covid compliant with glass partitioning workspaces equipped with cutting edge technology.
