Are you an experienced ICT infrastructure professional ready to lead and support technical migrations across complex environments? A dynamic government department is seeking a skilled ICT Project Officer (Technical) to join their Information Technology Services branch and help deliver seamless relocations and infrastructure transformation projects.
About the Role
You will lead the technical planning and execution of user and system migrations associated with departmental relocations, with a strong focus on managing capacity, ensuring availability, and minimising service disruptions. This includes working closely with infrastructure teams, coordinating vendor support arrangements, mentoring internal staff, and supporting hybrid technology environments.
Your work will directly support the Department’s vision for a fair, safe, and inclusive Queensland—delivering technology services that help reduce harm, protect vulnerable people, and enable critical justice operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead capacity planning and lifecycle management of departmental server environments and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).
- Oversee and evaluate infrastructure performance, plan for future needs, and support evolution toward hybrid delivery models.
- Provide technical leadership and coaching to infrastructure teams on migrated systems and environments.
- Manage high-quality IT operational services, focusing on security, resilience, and end-user satisfaction.
- Drive patching, vulnerability management, and operational readiness across corporate infrastructure.
- Prepare technical documentation and executive briefings on proposals, risks, and infrastructure performance.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including product vendors, to resolve technical issues and coordinate service delivery.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop robust solutions.
- Technical expertise in Microsoft server environments, including Azure, AOVPN, Intune, Autopilot, SCCM, Windows365, and Defender.
- Experience working with modern management technologies, cloud migrations, scripting, and certificate management.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based environments and tools like ServiceNow.
