- In consultation with relevant stakeholders, and in accordance with Project Management methodologies, develop, implement, update, monitor, manage and communicate key project management artefacts, financial management tools, steering committees and working groups or and sprint planning.
- Manage, direct and coordinate the project team to ensure the best use of available resources, and to utilise strengths in key team members. Actively prioritise activities & issues depending on impact, priority, and criticality.
- Prioritise, allocate and coordinate project activities and identified action areas, and escalate problems and issues to the Director and relevant Project Steering Committee or governance body.
- Monitor progress of projects to ensure that milestones and performance indicators are met.
- Identify areas of improvement and prepare documentation to outline recommendations for improvement to the Director and relevant Project Steering Committee or governance body. Identify gaps, issues, weaknesses, and potential problem areas which may adversely impact project scope, deliverables, time frames, risk, resourcing, or costs. Keep abreast of developments within and across projects and look for opportunities for improving effectiveness and efficiency.
- Establish and maintain excellent interpersonal working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare project status reports and other reports required through project management methodologies. Routinely monitor and report on progress of the project to all relevant stakeholders. Provide project reports through the Director and Executive Director, Portfolio Delivery.
- In collaboration with project team members, work closely with internal customers to determine their strategic, business and functional requirements, and investigate (& recommend) solutions to meet these requirements.
- Provide an exceptional level of service to project stakeholders. Maintain close and cooperative contact with the project team and steering committee. Keep all stakeholders aware of progress, upcoming deliverables, and ensure stakeholder expectations are managed. Keep relevant stakeholders informed on a regular basis, even if there is no news.
- Take responsibility for managing work in progress, work completed, work planned, key changes and resolving issues to achieve results. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans and see activities through to completion.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as required and commit to achieving quality outcomes and adhere to documentation procedures. Show initiative and take personal responsibility for meeting objectives, progressing work, and keeping stakeholders informed.
