About the Roles:
The Homeless Hotline is a vital 24/7 information and referral service for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As a Professional Support Officer, you will be part of a dedicated team within the Contact Centre, providing crucial telephone-based support.
We are seeking two flexible part-time Professional Support Officers to join our team.
Applicant 1 Shift Schedule:
- Saturday: Full day shift (7 hours 15 minutes)
- Sunday: Full day shift (7 hours 15 minutes)
- Monday: Day shift (5 hours)
Applicant 2 Shift Schedule:
- Saturday: Full day shift (7 hours 15 minutes)
- Sunday: Full day shift (7 hours 15 minutes)
- Wednesday: Day shift (5 hours)
As a Professional Support Officer, you will be tasked with:
Delivering a telephone-based information and referral service to the public.
Conducting culturally appropriate initial assessments and making suitable referrals to government and non-government support services.
Keeping accurate client records.
Developing referral networks to enhance support options for clients.
- Contributing to team goals and strategies to improve service delivery.
Providing information, training, and coaching to internal stakeholders.
About you
Excellent communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders and clients.
A high degree of personal resilience and the ability to support others in developing resilience.
An understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The ability to use a practice framework to solve complex client issues effectively.
Experience in coaching, training, and providing professional advice.
A commitment to achieving goals.
