Are you a seasoned governance and risk professional looking for a challenging new opportunity? We're seeking a Principal Advisor, Governance and Risk for a 6-month contract to join our clients team in the CBD location.

The Role
Reporting to the Manager of Governance and Risk, you'll be responsible for leading the roll out of the organisation's risk management and corporate governance frameworks. You will also:
... - Provide Expert Advice: Advise and support the leadership team on matters of risk management and corporate governance issues. This includes providing high-quality advice to management and staff on contemporary risk management trends.
- Develop and Implement Frameworks: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the organisation's risk management and corporate governance frameworks, policies, and processes.
- Lead Key Initiatives: Lead the coordination of the annual insurance renewal program and the development, implementation, and review of the Business Continuity Framework.
- Conduct Research and Analysis: Research and analyse complex performance and risk management issues in accordance with government procedures and legislative requirements.
- Strengthen Internal Capabilities: Coordinate and deliver training initiatives designed to strengthen risk management and corporate governance activities.
About You
You'll be a self-starter with a proven track record in a similar role. You should have:
- Extensive Experience: Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing risk management frameworks, such as the Australian Standard AS/NSZ ISO31000:2018 Risk management guidelines.
- Strong Analytical Skills: The ability to research and analyse complex information.
- High-Level Knowledge: A high-level knowledge of contemporary approaches to risk management and a demonstrated ability to implement best practices.
- Exceptional Communication: The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with managers and staff and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Be proactive and self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision, and generate new ideas for business improvements.
