Job Title: Senior Payroll Officer – Temporary Contract

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to step into a vital temporary role supporting a large-scale back-pay project for nursing staff under a new Enterprise Agreement.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values-led aged care organisation and put your high-volume payroll expertise to work—processing payroll for over 1,000 employees and ensuring staff are paid correctly and compliantly.

About the Role

Working within a close-knit payroll team, you’ll help manage all aspects of payroll processing from start to finish, with a particular focus on accurate back-pay calculations. You’ll also provide essential cover during a team member’s absence.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end payroll processing for 1,000+ employees.

• Calculating and processing back pay in line with newly negotiated EB agreements.

• Applying awards and EBAs correctly—especially in aged care and healthcare contexts.

• Responding to payroll queries from staff and management.

• Maintaining clean data and ensuring accurate system entries (experience with SIM software desirable).

What You’ll Bring:

• Extensive payroll experience in high-volume environments.

• Strong working knowledge of industrial awards and EBAs (Aged Care Award experience essential).

• Confidence working with payroll systems (SIM experience an advantage).

• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines with accuracy and discretion.

• A team player attitude and proactive mindset.
