New Payroll Manager opportunity leading a payroll team of 4 sitting within the P&C division reporting into the HR Director.
As the Payroll Manager you will be taking a strategic approach with this role, focusing on driving the team forward with an emphasis on strong leadership, governance & compliance, process improvements, system updates, etc.
The payroll consists of 2,500 staff and is processed weekly, fortnightly & monthly. The systems used are iChris/ Chris21 & Employment Hero. This System experience is preferred but not essential to the role.
This is a full time permanent role based in St Leonards in Sydney. The office is accessible via public transport and provides parking. Hybrid working is also offered to employees. Salary ranges from $150,000 - $160,000 + super + bonus and other company benefits.
Key responsibilities:
... - Oversee the payroll function and ensure an accurate and timely payroll process for all employees.
- Lead, coach and mentor the payroll team driving a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Ensure compliance with a range of different industry awards.Ensure PAYG withholding. Superannuation contributions, payroll tax returns, worker comp, etc.
- Ensure all systems are up to date and are effectively utilized (iChris & Employment Hero).
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency
- Resolve complex payroll issues
- Collaborate with different divisions and stakeholders across the organization including finance, HR, IT, etc.
- Drive payroll projects and system transformation projects working collaborating with senior members of the team.
Preferred skills & experience:
- 5+ years working as a payroll manager with experience running a payroll team.
- Knowledge of shift work related awards would be highly regarded.
- Experience with Micropay and UKG is a benefit but not essential.
- Experience working on payroll / system projects and updates.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and engage with a range of stakeholders.
