An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Manager to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organization. This role is all about overseeing and managing all elements of payroll and its associated processes for our client. You'll work closely with key stakeholders in the current outsourced payroll model to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, every time. You will also provide expertise on payroll legislation and frameworks to support the HR and Finance teams.
This is a chance to work autonomously while collaborating with project teams and senior stakeholders to deliver key strategic outcomes. You will gain exposure to complex challenges and play a vital role in shaping high-impact projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
... - Manage and control the payroll function, including ensuring payrolls are run accurately and on schedule.
- Undertake calculations for annual leave, long service leave, and redundancy.
- Reconcile superannuation and deduction payments.
- Review and remit PAYG tax payments and ensure STP compliance.
- Submit monthly payroll tax reconciliations for NSW and VIC and prepare workers' compensation returns.
- Investigate data discrepancies and solve queries.
- Maintain fortnightly and monthly payroll reconciliations for HR and Finance month-end reporting.
- Prepare FTE management reports and reconciliations using information from the payroll system.
- Lead payroll-related projects, including system implementations or improvements.
- Implement enhancements to our client’s existing payroll system and processes, including time and attendance capture, and optimise technology usage.
Selection Criteria
- You have a strong background in Australian payroll with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with outsourced and in-house payroll preferred.
- You are known for finding efficiencies and immerse yourself in the details.
- You have a "can-do, roll up your sleeves" approach and are comfortable with ambiguity.
- You are driven, perceptive, self-assured, and an authentic communicator.
- You are open to moving to an in-house payroll model over the next 12-18 months and are comfortable managing this transition.
