Randstad is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Payroll Officer for a full-time temporary opportunity with a well-regarded government organisation in the civil construction industry. This is a 6-month temporary full-time role based in Nerang, 36 hours per week, with potential for extension. In this role, you’ll be responsible for processing high-volume weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees, ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time.

Ensure correct application of pay rates, allowances, and entitlements
Assist with resolving payroll queries and provide support to employees and managers
Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth payroll operations
Handle ad hoc payments and assist with reporting and reconciliations
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments.
- Strong knowledge of awards and entitlements (experience in construction or similar industries is a bonus)
- Experience with SAP or similar payroll systems is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
