This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Parking Officer. Our client provides services across the portfolios of defence, health, transport, justice, immigration and citizen services.
Your New Role
The Parking Officer plays a key role in delivering a positive and helpful experience for all car park users. This customer-facing position involves assisting visitors with parking enquiries, responding to parking-related incidents, maintaining car park equipment, and replenishing parking machines. While issuing parking infringements is part of the role, the focus is on providing excellent service, resolving issues efficiently, and supporting a safe and accessible environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt quickly and professionally to changing situations throughout the day.
This position will be an initial full time 18 month contract with a high possibility of extension.
Your Responsibilities:

- Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with the Vehicle and Traffic Management Service Plan.
- Provide education to users regarding parking rules and regulations including enforcing parking laws and managing traffic flow.
- Ensure car parks and parking equipment remain clean and tidy at all times.
- Patrols site to observe automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and other vehicles for parking violations and check that on site visitors are not parked in unauthorised bays.
- Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and experience
- Ensure all tasks related to the issuing of infringements are completed in line with relevant work instructions (e.g. ensuring photographic evidence of parking offences / violations have been recorded, daily syncing of infringement devices etc.)
- Regularly conducts checks on parking machines, ticket bins, car park bay counts and signage and promptly responds to rectifying any faults i.e. coin jams, misalignment of car park counts etc.
- During peak periods answers a wide variety of queries from visitors, clinical and non- clinical personnel.
- Liaising with the public and providing advice regarding parking queries.
- Respond to incoming requests in line with VTMS service delivery requirements to achieve target response times.
- Maintains work records in a clear and concise manner and ensures that all administrative and reporting requirements are completed promptly and efficiently (Agility) Notifies Manager VTMS of issues with any parking equipment that requires 3rd party assistance (e.g. faulty parking machines, issues with infringement devices etc. ) Contacts Rangers from City of Melville, if required.
- Observe and report hazardous conditions such as missing traffic signs and markings that need repainting.
- Undertake required reporting and other administrative duties, as required.
- Any other duties as requested by management.
Experience:
- Experience working within a Health Care Environment (desirable).
- Experience utilising hand held devices, preferably PDA's (desirable).
- MAPD Infringement Device (desirable)
