Experience:
• Experience in a Line 2 Compliance role or similar function.
• 3+ years legal experience, insurance and/or financial services compliance experience (General insurance strongly preferred).
• Experience in Compliance Assurance or Internal Audit with the ability to perform independent end-to-end Assurance Reviews, with sound data literacy skills to assist with insights.

• Strong skills in researching and applying relevant Law, Regulations and Code obligations to business operations as well as effective report writing and communication.
• Ideally have a tertiary qualification or diploma in Accounting, Commerce, Banking Economics, Finance, Law.
• Preferred working knowledge of APRA prudential standards, Corporations Act & Regulations, ASIC Act and Regulatory Guides, Insurance Contracts Act, and the GI Code of Practice.
• Technical Compliance Risk capability and knowledge of risk frameworks.
Skills:
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to access current and correct compliance information and interpret relevant regulatory legislation.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the Compliance function.
• Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.
• Ability to model good risk culture and ability to adopt a risk perspective.
• Strong ability to analyse/identify risks and opportunities and recommend practical, appropriate actions.
• Strong research and investigative skills with the ability to critically assess decisions, findings
and outcomes reported by colleagues.
• Proficiency with risk incident software.
