Randstad Senior Finance is partnering with a leading organisation to find an exceptional professional for a 6-month interim contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a period of significant system and process enhancement.
Our client has recently undergone transformative technological upgrades to its Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), including the implementation of Workday for Finance and HR , which has resulted in significant changes to some Finance and HR business processes. Furthermore, the Workday system architecture has replaced the traditional “chart of accounts” and introduced a new data framework known as the Foundation Data Model (FDM) that supports financial transaction processing, enriched reporting and security within Workday. Effective governance over the FDM is critical to ensure accurate and effective accounting and reporting that supports data driven decision making.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Finance Support and Advisory Lead , you will be instrumental in supporting the team in delivering core management accounting functions as the organisation transitions to utilising Workday and adhering to new or modified Finance and HR processes & procedures. This role requires a detail-oriented, organised, and efficient individual who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
- FDM Governance: Administering the FDM governance model for the finance business process , contributing to the continual development of new and updating of existing collection of FDM policies, procedures, guidelines and Worktag design documentation , assessing change request tickets against FDM Worktag definitions and change criteria , coordinating meetings of the FDM Change Advisory Group , maintaining change log registers , and providing guidance and support to change requestors. You will foster a culture of data excellence by advocating for and championing best practice FDM data governance standards.
- Finance Support: Investigating and resolving issues within financial data , assessing requests to perform journal entries for adequacy of purpose, technical accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation , processing corrective actions at source to Operational Transactions or performing manual journal entries as required , and preparing corporate and division level General Ledger journals. You will also assess key drivers of transaction errors and drive corrective actions at source to eliminate or reduce future errors.
- Collaboration & Engagement: Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders , communicating effectively with stakeholders and ensuring they are supported, provided sound advice and proactively advised of the status of any requests , and providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Essential: Experience with Workday Finance mandatory. Knowledge of Workday is desirable.
- Experience in a similar role or a role that included governance of chart of accounts in a similar sized organisation.
- Ability to learn quickly and hit the ground running.
- Ability to work autonomously and have initiative to solve problems or suggest solutions.
- Experience with cross functional stakeholder management.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work in complex and faced paced environments.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a high-level of expertise in Excel, including proficiency in summarising large volumes of financial data.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the higher education sector.
- Knowledge and experience in business intelligence tools such as, Power BI.
- Experience in change management and process improvement highly advantageous.
