About the Opportunity
Randstad Senior Finance is proud to partner with a leading organisation in the higher education sector, located in Melbourne's inner northern suburbs. This organisation has recently undergone a significant technological transformation, including the implementation of Workday for its Finance and HR functions.
An exciting 6-month contract opportunity has emerged for a skilled and motivated Finance Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the organisation as it continues to embed its new financial systems and processes.
If you are a proactive and detail-oriented accountant with experience in Workday and a passion for process improvement, this is the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Analyst, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and the effective governance of the new financial framework. Your key responsibilities will include:
Financial Data Governance: You will be instrumental in governing the Foundation Data Model (FDM), which has replaced the traditional chart of accounts. This includes assessing change requests, maintaining documentation, and championing best practices in data governance.
Management Accounting Support: You will support the finance business partnering teams by investigating and resolving data issues, processing journal entries, and preparing corporate and divisional general ledger journals.
Stakeholder Engagement: You will collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders, including Finance Business Partners, Management Accountants, and the Workday Finance Systems team, providing them with sound advice and support.
Continuous Improvement: You will actively identify and suggest improvements to financial systems, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and support the university's operations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified CA, CPA, or CIMA, or possess equivalent postgraduate qualifications and experience. We are looking for a candidate with:
Mandatory Workday Experience: Hands-on experience with Workday Finance is essential for this role.
Strong Technical Skills: Proven experience in a similar role involving the governance of a chart of accounts, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent Communication Skills: You will have the ability to prepare clear, concise written documentation and effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
A Proactive Mindset: We need someone who can learn quickly, work autonomously, and take the initiative to solve problems.
Desirable Experience: Knowledge of the higher education sector and experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI would be highly regarded.
What's on Offer
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team within a world-class organisation. You will gain invaluable experience working with a new Workday system and contribute to meaningful process improvements. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.
