Role: Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner
Location: Western Suburbs, Melbourne (Hybrid)

Hourly Rate: $65.87 + super
You will support financial operations by preparing monthly reports, providing variance analysis, and supporting budgeting and forecasting to help meet organisational objectives within the community services department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly management financial reports, including variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring all reporting deadlines are met
- Provide financial support and training to operational staff to build financial capability
- Deliver financial advice and reporting aligned with Council policies, Australian Accounting Standards, and relevant legislation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support operational objectives
- Contribute to financial modelling and cash flow management within the department
- Assist with preparing financial information for funding requirements with State Government bodies
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CPA/CA commenced or intention desirable)
- 2–5 years’ experience in financial accounting, including reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and forecasting
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in financial management systems
- Excellent communication skills to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and contribute to process improvement
- Experience within local government (desirable)
