... About the Role: Randstad are seeking an accomplished and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead a dynamic team within the client’s Production Department. This pivotal role encompasses overseeing daily operational maintenance, strategic project planning and execution, procurement, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and actively participating as a key member of the leadership team. You will be instrumental in proactive problem-solving as issues arise.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effective planning, management, and coordination of the maintenance team to ensure all preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and new projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
This is a full-time, day shift-based position, typically running Monday to Friday (7:30 am - 4:15 pm, with an early finish on Fridays at 2:15 pm). Given the nature of a leadership role in a continuous operation, regular overtime will be required based on operational demands.
Key Responsibilities & Attributes:
- Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to a busy maintenance department.
- Oversee and execute daily operational maintenance tasks.
- Plan, manage, and deliver maintenance projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate purchasing and inventory for maintenance needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and efficiency.
- Actively contribute to the site's leadership team.
- Lead problem-solving for mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery, including extruders and packaging equipment.
- Ensure maximum machine efficiencies are achieved through proactive maintenance and issue identification.
- Organize, manage, and motivate maintenance personnel.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical problem-solving and strategic planning.
- Proven experience in managing both preventative and project-based maintenance.
- Substantial leadership experience within maintenance and engineering teams.
- Strong track record in organizing and managing people effectively.
- Solid understanding of operations within the food or broader manufacturing industry.
- Exceptional communication and time management capabilities.
- Robust team-oriented problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter & Turner, or an equivalent trade.
