As a Legal Support Officer / Paralegal Support Officer, you will:
... - Document & Correspondence Management: Provide high-level word processing, including Dictaphone (preferred), and expert document formatting (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PDFs). You'll prepare briefs, reports, and various correspondence, and manage all incoming and outgoing mail.
- Administrative & Logistical Support: Coordinate diaries, schedule meetings and conferences (including agendas and minutes), and arrange travel and accommodation for the legal team.
- Information & Financial Systems: Maintain crucial information systems, including Excel spreadsheets, case management systems (e.g., VisualFiles), and filing. You'll also assist with financial tasks like billing, time recording, and managing legal expenses/counsel fees.
- Workflow & Client Relations: Adapt to frequent interruptions and tight deadlines while maintaining high performance. You'll effectively liaise with internal and external clients on confidential matters and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Team Collaboration & Professional Growth: Establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You'll support process improvements, contribute to our inclusive culture, model Crown Law’s values, and work across various teams as needed. You'll also engage in self-development and support operational initiatives.
Additionally, this role may involve paralegal-specific tasks, such as:
- Conducting supervised legal research.
- Drafting routine legal documents, correspondence, and court forms.
- Assisting with discovery, including document review and organisation.
- Maintaining and organising case files and legal documentation.
- Preparing court bundles and assisting with legal advice/submissions.
