This leading national commercial fit-out and refurbishment head contractor delivers small to medium-scale projects, typically ranging from $500K to $5 million, with a strong focus on office fit-outs. They are offering a unique opportunity for a motivated and reliable Leading Hand to join their successful like-minded team, and develop into a Foreman or Site Supervisor role.
With a strong pipeline of work, this builder provides an ideal platform for experienced carpentry or joinery tradespeople who possess strong interpersonal and client-facing skills and are looking to step off the tools and take ownership of managing their own $500K office fit-out projects.
The Role:
Recently, this builder has secured a diverse mix of exciting projects across the office fit-out, government, commercial, and luxury residential sectors. As a result, they have partnered with Randstad to recruit two motivated Sub-Foremen / Leading Hands for urgent, long-term contract roles. These positions are offered on a wage basis, and report directly to the assigned Project Manager.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy site, with a focus on carpentry tasks and coordinating the efforts of labourers and subcontractors.
Duties:
... - Supervision / co-ordination of trades, site personnel and subcontractors.
- Documenting site activity
- Compliance and monitoring of WHS
- Ensuring carpentry works are being carried out in accordance to plans.
- Working closely with the Foreman to review the status of the project.
Requirements:
- You will be trade or tertiary qualified in Carpentry / Joinery and have worked for a recognised building practice in Australia.
- Experience complying with WHS
- 2 years experience working on similar commercial projects.
- High communication skills and attention to detail.
- Computer Literate
- Be hungry to fast track up the ranks in a bustling environment.
- Full driver’s license and vehicle
