Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable IoT solutions on Azure
12-Month Contract | $1,000/day + Super
Hybrid role (2-3 days in office) in Parramatta with a top utility provider. Build Azure IoT solutions to boost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable IoT solutions on Azure.
- Manage device lifecycle, provisioning, and connectivity via Azure IoT Hub & DPS.
- Deploy and scale microservices/data apps on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Build data pipelines from IoT Hub to Azure services for storage, analysis, and action.
- Implement security from devices to cloud, ensuring data privacy and integrity.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerts for platform reliability.
- Collaborate with firmware devs, data scientists, and front-end teams for integrated solutions.
- Automate deployments with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
Required Skills
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years in cloud engineering, backend dev, or DevOps.
- Hands-on Azure IoT Hub expertise (DPS, device twins, routing, security).
- Strong AKS skills: Deploy/scale containers; Docker, K8s (Pods/Services/Deployments), Helm.
- Backend coding in C#, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Deep knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS).
- Experience with NoSQL (e.g., Cosmos DB) and relational DBs.
Preferred
- Azure certs (e.g., IoT Developer Specialty, Admin/Developer Associate).
- IaC tools (Terraform/Bicep).
- Azure services (Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, Functions, Time Series Insights).
- Big data (Databricks, Spark).
- Cloud network/security principles.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
