About your new role
The Investigation Adviser will play a critical role in upholding integrity and accountability within the public sector by providing expert procedural advice and support to managers, principalsand senior stakeholders. This includes guiding the effective management of employee complaints and allegations of misconduct, as well as assisting in the implementation of formal unsatisfactory performance processes in line with legislative requirements, departmental policyand best practice standards. The role requires sound judgment, a nuanced understanding of complex workplace issuesand the ability to ensure that investigative and performance management procedures are applied fairly, consistentlyand transparently across the organisation.
What you will need to exceed
- Knowledge of investigative procedures, administrative lawand procedural fairness
- Understand and apply relevant policies, industrial instruments (like EBAs) and legislation.
- Ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Handle sensitive or emotionally charged situations
- Understand workplace behaviours, employment lawand performance frameworks
- Ability to assess complex information, identify patterns or inconsistenciesand draw sound, evidence-based conclusions.
- Work flexibly in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Must have

Desirable
- Experience in working for government
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or substantial experience in education, human resources advisory or investigative roles.
