Reporting to the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide essential support to the Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator and the Injury Management Advisor. The role focuses on managing work and non-work related injury cases in accordance with the OHS Act 2004 and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013, preparing relevant incident reports and summaries, and maintaining the organisation's claims data and Incident Reporting System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lodge all WorkCover claims within legislative timeframes and process all associated administration tasks.
- Work collaboratively to develop strategies for safe, sustainable, and timely return to work outcomes for injured workers.
- Prepare tailored Return to Work Plans for both work-related and non-work related injuries.
- Liaise directly with the Insurance Agent and manage Weekly Compensation Reimbursements and Indexation Requests.
- Undertake financial reconciliation of claims and work towards reducing the WorkCover Premium via strategic claims management.
- Collect, analyse, and compile accurate data concerning injury management, highlighting trends and areas needing attention.
- End-to-end management of Council’s non-WorkCover / non-work related injury cases.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Demonstrated experience in WorkCover/injury management claims administration and adherence to relevant Victorian legislation (OHS Act 2004, Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013).
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience in managing claims files, data, and financial reconciliation.
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with internal staff, the WorkCover Agent, medical providers, and other external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collect, analyse, and compile accurate injury data and reports.
