Manager, Governance and Risk - ICT (Contract)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Governance and Risk to lead and manage the governance and risk management functions for large-scale, complex Information Management and ICT programs and projects. In this pivotal contract position, you will report to the Director, Program Management Office, and will be responsible for ensuring that program and project delivery is aligned with government legislation and policy requirements. This role is crucial for enabling effective management and decision-making within a complex program environment.
Key Responsibilities
... Oversee and manage the provision of effective program and project governance and risk management services.
Develop and implement risk management frameworks, providing expert advice to senior leaders on current and emerging risks.
Coordinate risk documentation and prepare strategic risk reports for senior executives.
Lead the development and implementation of governance frameworks and reporting pathways, including establishing consistent terms of reference for project boards.
Actively promote a culture of risk management by coaching and supporting project teams and stakeholders.
Represent the program at board meetings and other key governance forums.
Establish best-practice secretariat services for program and project committees.
About You
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skills in program and project risk management, preferably within a large and complex service delivery organization. You will be skilled in both strategic risk management and organizational analysis.
The successful candidate will also possess:
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing program and project governance frameworks.
Exceptional negotiation, consultation, and facilitation skills.
A proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build a client-focused culture.
Relevant qualifications such as P30, PRINCE2, or MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) are highly regarded but not mandatory.
Further Information
This is a contract position based in Brisbane, with a hybrid working arrangement of a minimum 60% on-site presence. An immediate start is preferred.
