Randstad are working with a local council to seek a Human Resources Officer to join their team.
In this position, you'll be instrumental in ensuring their HR systems and documentation are well-administered and communicated throughout the organisation. You'll also be a primary point of contact for internal and external HR inquiries, providing timely and accurate advice on policies, procedures, and legislative changes.

Key Responsibilities
- HR System and Documentation Management: Ensure all HR documentation, including policies and procedures, is properly administered and communicated. Advisory and Support: Serve as an internal expert on HR, recruitment, and industrial matters, providing advice on both internal policies and relevant external legislative changes.
- Recruitment and Workforce Planning: Promote and coordinate recruitment activities, including planning and implementing events like career expos.
- Employee Development and Administration: Help with the implementation of our annual Employee Development System process and other people-and-culture initiatives. You will also assist with the timely processing of various employee-related documents, such as appointment decisions, leave requests, and exit letters.
- General Duties: Prepare accurate reports and statistics on HR-related issues, assist in committee meetings, and contribute as a HR representative on selection and interview panels when needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a similar HR role, preferably in a local government or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Familiarity with HR systems and an aptitude for data management and reporting.
