Randstad has partnered with a highly successful and growing organisation based on St Kilda Road, Melbourne, with operations across Australia and New Zealand. Known for their strong values and collaborative culture, the business is now seeking a talented Group Accountant to take ownership of FX and treasury functions, alongside broader finance responsibilities.
About the Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for managing the company’s foreign exchange exposure and trade finance activities, while also supporting the financial and management reporting functions for ANZ. You’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial operations, and act as a trusted partner to the CFO.
- Take ownership of booking and managing Foreign Exchange Contracts (FECs), confirming FX deals, maintaining the FEC schedule, and updating FX rates in the ERP system.
- Manage Letters of Credit, Draft Payments (DPAs), and trade loans via the bank portal. Oversee drawdowns under the trade finance facility to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare daily cash flow forecasts, perform daily bank reconciliations, calculate interest accruals, and complete month-end Mark-to-Market entries.
- Complete month-end journals and reconciliations. Support the CFO with monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and the preparation of audit-ready financials.
- Review and approve payment runs, ensuring overseas invoices are coded correctly. Oversee AP processes and manage intercompany recharges with the NZ office.

Ideal Profile
- You will be CA/CPA qualified, coupled with 5+ years industry experience
- Strong communication skills, capable of building successful working relationships across departments
- Proven experience with foreign exchange transactions, trade finance, and working within multi-currency, multi-entity environments.
- Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory accounting within product-based businesses.
- Strong Excel and ERP experience essential, JD Edwards (JDE) will be looked upon favourable.
