About the Role:
As the Fund Accounting Manager (Investments), you will be pivotal in overseeing the financial and regulatory reporting of a series of managed investment schemes. This role requires a strong focus on project management, particularly concerning year-end processes, service provider oversight, and the implementation of valuation and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of the preparation of financial statements by the custodian relating to investment schemes, including project management of financial year-end reporting processes.
Support the Fund Accounting Leader in overseeing the provision of services by the external custodian.
Manage the implementation of the valuation oversight model, including data flows from investment managers and controls, understanding and documenting unlisted valuation inputs and processes, and supporting overall operational valuation processes with a focus on Private Market investments.
Review and assist with the uplift of the internal control environment within the Fund Accounting team to enhance the oversight model.
Manage the implementation of ESG reporting and AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures for valuation governance.
Maintain the Investment Manager Register.
Develop and implement a detailed project plan for year-end reporting.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA) is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably with an audit firm, fund manager, or custodian.
Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulations, particularly related to superannuation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Detailed knowledge and experience of financial accounting standards and concepts, Managed Investment Schemes, and Superannuation funds.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound judgment and the ability to make appropriate and timely decisions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
