Are you looking for some project work for the start of the dry season? Our client is looking for an events officer for an event that is coming up. You will assist the Community Events Coordinator in developing, coordinating and organising community events, activities and programs in the Palmerston area.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the planning and logistics of community events. The Events Officer will also work closely with Community Development Officers to create engaging activities for the community.
- Assist the Events Lead with planning and logistics of community events.
- Manage all aspects of event planning including site plans, risk assessments, run sheets, and vendor coordination.
- Conduct post-event evaluation and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and licensing requirements for events.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Community stakeholders.
- Work alongside Community Development Officers to create and deliver engaging community activities and events for community members.
- Assist Media with promotion of community events.
- Ad hoc - work alongside other departments to deliver their events.
About You
We are looking for detail-oriented and reliable individuals who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will have:
- Relevant vocational qualifications such as Project Management, Event Management orexperience in project or event management
- Able to pass a police check
- Hold a C class drivers license
- Demonstrated experience in organisational and event coordination skills.
- Proven experience in working in collaborative partnerships with local, state and federal governments, non-government organisations, contractors and the community.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office suite)
