Key Responsibilities:
... Strategic Planning & Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain the university's enterprise-wide technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with their overarching academic and business strategies. Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact and value.
Architectural Leadership & Governance: Define, promote, and govern architectural principles, standards, patterns, and best practices across the institution. Ensure architectural consistency, security, and scalability in all major technology initiatives.
Solution & Domain Guidance: Provide high-level architectural oversight and guidance to program and solution architects, development teams, and project managers across various domains (e.g., Student Management Systems, Research Systems, Corporate Systems, Learning & Teaching platforms).
Application & Data Rationalization: Lead efforts to rationalize the application portfolio, identifying opportunities for consolidation, modernization, and retirement of redundant or inefficient systems. Design robust data architectures to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and a 'single source of truth' for critical institutional data.
Cloud Strategy & Adoption: Drive the university's cloud adoption strategy, architecting secure and scalable cloud solutions that leverage IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models to optimize cost, agility, and performance.
Integration Architecture: Define strategies and patterns for seamless integration between disparate systems (e.g., SMS, LMS, Finance, HR, CRM), ensuring efficient data flow and a cohesive digital ecosystem.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate extensively with senior academic leaders, executive teams, business units, and IT departments to understand needs, build consensus, and communicate complex architectural concepts effectively.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate architectural risks, technical debt, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., privacy, data security).
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience within the Higher Education or Public Sector highly regarded
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing enterprise-level architectural strategies and roadmaps.
- Deep knowledge of various architectural domains: Business, Application, Data, Technology, and Security architecture.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of tackling complex, ambiguous challenges.
