Position: Project Engineer
Location: Melbourne, VIC
About the Role We are seeking a Project Engineer to deliver high-quality electrical designs and technical solutions for major land development and infrastructure projects. This role involves hands-on design work, mentoring team members, and engaging with clients to ensure projects meet all technical, safety, and compliance requirements. The Project Engineer will report to the Design Supervisor and work with a collaborative engineering team, providing both technical support and professional development for junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
Projects & Industry: Design and prepare specifications for overhead and underground utility electrical distribution systems, public lighting, and AS3000 projects. Ensure designs are compliant, approved, and delivered on time. Maintain administrative and project records and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Team Development & Support: Mentor and train junior engineers, and provide design guidance. Assist with quality assurance checks and skills development for the design team. Support the Design Supervisor in maintaining strong client relationships.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain open and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders. Build strong working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Minimum Qualification: A degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Preferred Accreditations (in order of priority): RPEV, RPEQ, and SAPN 5 Years
Preferred Industry Experience (in order of priority): Distribution, AS3000 / SIR’s, and Solar, Renewables, or Data Centres.
Essential Skills: Ability to manage a project portfolio, interpret client requirements, and possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. Candidates should be highly organised, self-driven, and collaborative.
