About your new role

As an administration Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and advocating for the effective use of plain language and corporate templates in the creation of Council documents.
In so doing, the incumbent will comply with the NSW Work Health Safety Act 2011, Work Health Safety
Regulation 2017 and Council’s Safety system.
Job Title: Editorial Standards Officer (Secretarial and Administration)
Location: Blacktown
Hourly Rate: $72/hour + Superannuation
Work Hours: 21 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (with some flexibility)
Start Date: Sunday, August 24, 2025
End Date: Tuesday, March 31, 2026
Daily Hours: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
- Review and Proofread: Carefully review the structure, format, and content of various documents, including correspondence, reports, memos, strategies, policies, fact sheets, newsletters, and website text.
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Actively contribute to and support business process improvements
- Support the enforcement of staff use of corporate style, templates and document management systems.
What you will need to succeed
- Experience in proofreading and editing with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, particularly in developing templates and using styles.
- Experience in creating and editing documents using Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in working with document and record management systems (CM and/or SharePoint).
- Commitment to customer service.
