Tired of the corporate banking grind? Come work for a national Ombudsman where your job is to be fair, not to make a profit. You will help solve disagreements between everyday Australians (or small businesses) and their banks.
You aren't just pushing paper—you are the one investigating the facts, talking to both sides, and making the final call on who is right.
What You’ll Do
Investigate: Look into complaints about mortgages, credit cards, scams, and loans.
Solve Problems: Use your banking knowledge to help both parties reach an agreement.
Write Decisions: If they can't agree, you’ll write a clear, simple letter explaining your final decision based on banking rules.
Be a Fair Judge: Make sure banks are following the "Banking Code of Practice."
About You (Banking or Financial Services Experience Required)
We are looking for people directly from the Banking or Finance industry. This role is perfect for you if:
You have worked in Retail Banking, Lending, Call Centre, Credit, or Debt Recovery.
You can explain "bank-speak" in simple, everyday English.
You are good at looking at evidence and finding the truth.
You are comfortable having tough conversations with both customers and bank lawyers.
