The Role
The Director Operational Readiness is responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.This role has responsibility overseeing and ensuring successful transition into service for technology capabilities delivered by project and program areas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading complex technical initiatives to meet project and operational requirements.
- Provide vision and high-level technical guidance on implementation of technical solutions and ensuring they fit operational and supportability requirements.
- Leading technical decision making, managing solution risks and issues, and providing specialist guidance and advice to project teams, architects, and project managers.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, business units and vendors, ensuring solutions align with agency objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including those that are for information security, privacy, and data protection.
- Oversight of release management activities.
Essential criteria
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading complex technical delivery teams at a senior Level.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in or for the federal government.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in technology operational support teams.
- Significant experience in stakeholder management including to senior leaders and c-suite executives.
- Significant experience in successful project delivery.
Desirable criteria
- Experience leading service transition, operational readiness, or release management functions.
