Architect - Commercial Projects (Fixed Term/Temp to Perm)

About the Practice:
Our client is well-regarded and growing architectural practice based in Canberra with a strong commitment to collaborative design and fostering a supportive work environment. We are currently undertaking a significant commercial development and are seeking a skilled and proactive Architect to join our team.
The Opportunity:
This is an immediate requirement for an Architect to contribute to a substantial town centre project currently navigating the National Capital Design Review Panel and progressing towards Development Application (DA) submission. This role presents a potential pathway to a permanent position following an initial fixed-term contract or temporary assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in the ongoing documentation and development of a large-scale commercial project utilising Revit.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the internal project team and external consultants.
- Apply advanced Revit skills to generate detailed drawings and comprehensive documentation.
- Bring an open-minded and team-oriented approach to design challenges and solutions.
- Communicate effectively and professionally within the practice.
- Uphold high standards of honesty and professional integrity.
- Maintain punctuality and adhere to project schedules.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in architecture.
- A Master's degree in Architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale projects within Revit.
- Highly valued: Experience with cascade design workflows.
- Highly valued: Significant experience in commercial and multi-residential architectural projects.
- Highly valued: Experience gained within a larger architectural firm.
- Ability to quickly integrate into the team and contribute meaningfully from the outset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A flexible and collaborative mindset.
- A strong sense of responsibility and ethical conduct.
- Availability to commence employment promptly, ideally within the next two weeks.
- Willingness to work full-time from our Canberra office.
Desirable Attributes:
- Familiarity with the planning regulations and approval processes within the ACT.
- Values aligning with a close-knit, family-oriented practice.
Contract Structure:
We are open to engaging the successful candidate on either a fixed-term contract or a temporary basis, with a clear possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance and the ongoing needs of the project. We are happy to discuss suitable contract arrangements with interested applicants.

We are looking for someone to join us urgently and are aiming for a commencement within the next two weeks.
