Manager, Data Digital & Innovation - Lead Data Governance & AI Framework!
Location: Brisbane, must be willing to travel to the office 3 times a week in South Brisbane.
Are you an experienced and influential Data professional ready to lead the charge in establishing robust Data Governance and pioneering AI Frameworks? Our leading Brisbane client, a prominent and transformative organisation within the prudentially regulated financial sector, is seeking a Manager to champion Data and AI risk management behaviours and build critical capability within their Data, Digital, and Innovation division. This is a strategic role focused on implementation of the Data Governance Framework, and establish any risk controls around this.
About the Role: You will report to the Head of Insights and Analytics and lead a dedicated team responsible for Data Management and Governance, and deliver effective risk management advisory in the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence. You will play a key role in ensuring the team meets this leading organisations risk management program requirements, supports its obligations and strategic goals, and operates within agreed risk appetites. This position is vital in embedding a strong risk culture and enabling the transition of Line 1 activities in line with the 3 Lines of Accountability (3LoA) model.
Key Responsibilities:
...- Oversee the implementation and ongoing adherence to the Data Governance Framework.
- Drive the oversight of policies and procedures related to Responsible AI, AI Governance, Data Governance, and Data Retention.
- Support risk owners in managing operational risk profiles, including reviews, control testing, and remediation activities.
- Oversee and develop Technical and Business risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with Technology Security, Group Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure alignment.
What You'll Bring (Essential Capabilities):
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a senior ICT role (data, security, audit, assurance, governance, risk, compliance).
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in an ICT management role.
- Proven ability to lead through change, manage diverse specialist ICT teams, and foster a culture of engagement and accountability.
- Well-developed communication, influencing, negotiation, and advanced reporting/presentation skills (both technical and non-technical).
- Highly developed analytical and lateral thinking skills, with a proactive approach to driving change and innovation.
- Significant and detailed knowledge of ICT-related legislation, policies, procedures, and systems.
- A reputation as a professional leader, consistently displaying integrity, courage, and excellence.
