An exciting opportunity to join a respected, community-focused Federal Government Department, dedicated to supporting Australians with disability to achieve their goals. This position provides a valuable pathway into the public sector, where you’ll support individuals with complex needs in a rewarding role.
As a Participant Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact, delivering high-quality customer service and support both in person and via phone/email, directly contributing to enhancing services in the disability sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality customer service as the first point of contact and resolution for participants, customers, and stakeholders in person, over the phone, and via email
- Manage inboxes, including triaging and prioritising participant matters, and make outbound calls to participants, providers, and other stakeholders
- Undertake suitability assessments for entry and exits into specialist planning streams
- Assist with project management activities, including developing plans, providing advice, and supporting regular reporting and risk management analysis
Work collaboratively in a team environment, providing feedback, contributing to process improvement, and offering on-the-job support
What We’re Looking For:
- High-quality customer service skills, including empathy and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging conversations effectively
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues and make evidence-based decisions, managing multiple tasks
- Ability to adapt to change and work effectively in dynamic environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Desirable: Experience (professional or lived) with disabilities.
Additional Details:
- Full-time hours (Standard hours of work: 08:30am till 5:00pm)
- 12-month contract length, with potential for extensions
- Office-based in Moree, NSW
- Australian Citizenship is required
