About the role:
The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for dynamically adapting EOS’s Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) to specific customer equipment and any interfacing systems that can affect RWS performance. This is achieved through a combination of dynamic analysis, testing and tuning of adjustable parameters and software.
This role will be conducted at EOS facilities, Customer facilities, and test ranges both in Australia and Overseas. A high-level of interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills is essential to the success of this role. Training of the requirements and responsibilities will be provided on-the-job with the Control Systems Engineer progressively taking over this work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment of relevant dynamic characteristics
- Develop a high level of expertise regarding Remote Weapons Station Systems, involving maximising performance and upgrades
- Tuning including conducting simulations, modelling, and testing to validate and optimise control system designs
- Design, develop and implement control algorithms to integrate control systems into overall product architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to maximise the performance of EOS RWS in multiple configurations in service, at Customer demonstrations and in contracted V&V testing.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with Quality and Engineering Management Systems
- Anticipate challenges and risk and proactively mitigate them before performance is impacted
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues
About You:
You have a background in Control System Engineering with experience in system tuning and simulation. This role requires you to be available to travel for system demonstrations to provide technical support. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams as well as internal and external stakeholders.

- Proven capability in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively, and with influence, at all levels of EOS and Customer organisations
- Must be available to travel for system demonstrations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary Degree in Engineering
- 1 – 3 years experience
- Eligibility for Defence Security Clearance
- Eligibility for Foreign Work Authorisations under Safeguarding Australia’s Military Secrets Act
- Experience in digital signal processing is desirable
- Proven experience in system tuning and simulation is required
