Assistant Project Officer
Pay rate: $72.26 per hour + super

Key accountabilities
- Undertake and support quantitative and qualitative research on a wide range of natural resources, regulation and compliance issues including integrating data from a range of disparate systems, performing data integrity checks and identifying any outliers, gaps, and trends.
- Develop and maintain bespoke software applications that support automation of department's compliance activities
- Design statistical outputs that are clear and easy to understand to contribute to the production of regular statistical and reporting products for public dissemination.
- Provide data and analysis to support Investigation and Enforcement branch performance and workflow management.
- Deliver and manage regular reports and briefs on key natural resources, compliance, business performance and industry indicators in NSW for Department's Executive and staff,
- Provide timely and accurate business performance, natural resources, compliance and industry statistics for various internal clients.
- Contribute to the development of program and project management methodologies, guidelines and processes
Key Challenges
- Identifying and evaluating relevant statistical, programmatical and information sources and providing written analysis and advice on business performance, natural resources, compliance and industry indicators within tight deadlines while balancing competing priorities.
- Utilising effective research and software engineering skills to verify data and research sources to confirm their fitness for purpose.
- Developing and maintaining sound working relationships and partnerships with Departmental officers and other state government agencies with respect to statistical information.
