Assistant Director - Children Services - Numurkah
Are you a passionate and experienced Early Childhood professional seeking an exciting new challenge? This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand new, purpose-built Early Learning Centre in Numurkah, a vibrant town in the Shire of Moira, just 37 kilometres north of Shepparton. The location is an easy drive from Echuca, Shepparton, Yarrawonga, Kyneton, and Cobram.
This government-operated facility will accommodate 102 children, offering integrated 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten programs, including the introduction of pre-prep.
About the Role:
As the Assistant Director, you will support the Director in the daily operations of the service and, at times, act as the nominated supervisor. You will be instrumental in ensuring the centre's compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. Your responsibilities will include fostering strong relationships with team members and families, building community connections, and managing staff.

- Act as the nominated supervisor, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the Director's absence.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team of early childhood educators.
- Support educators in developing and implementing high-quality educational programs aligned with ECEC frameworks.
- In partnership with the director ensure all child safe standards are met.
- Maintain strong relationships with families and the wider community.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Conduct centre tours for prospective families.
- Perform ad hoc administrative duties.
- Support with workforce planning, retention and recutiment
What We Are Looking For:
- Approved Early Childhood teaching qualification (Diploma or Degree).
- Working with Children Check or VIT registration.
- Police check clearance.
- Mandatory reporting training.
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, CPR, and Asthma training.
- Two professional references that can attest to your work with children.
- Proven experience in a leadership or teaching position in Early Childhood Education
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards, and Child Protection legislation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Ability to build strong relationships with families and children.
