Randstad is currently partnering with a reputable and high-performing public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Finance & Payroll Consultant (ASO5).

This role is suited to candidates with strong financial acumen and payroll experience who are confident working in collaboration with HR and operations teams. You will play a vital role in ensuring efficient payroll and workforce-related financial support across a workforce of approximately 100 permanent and 100 casual employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate payroll support, processing entitlements, allowances, and leave balances

• Interpret and apply public sector employment conditions, awards, and enterprise agreements

• Collaborate with HR and operational teams to ensure consistent and compliant payroll practices

• Respond to internal stakeholders on payroll and finance-related queries with professionalism and clarity

• Maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes

• Assist in identifying opportunities for improving payroll and finance workflows

• Support reporting and financial documentation as required

Skills & Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience in payroll and finance operations, ideally within a government or large-scale workforce setting

• Strong understanding of HR and employment-related financial terminology

• Ability to interpret awards, enterprise agreements, and workforce entitlements

• Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with staff at all levels

• Proficiency with payroll and finance systems (e.g., TechOne, SAP, Chris21 – desirable)

• High attention to detail, with sound organisational and documentation skills
