The Role
Randstad is seeking an APS6 Project Officer for a 12-month contract to contribute to key initiatives across a government agency. This role is suited for an individual with a proactive approach, exceptional organisational abilities, and a proven background in project management and stakeholder engagement. In this position, you will have the chance to support strategic planning and project management efforts, helping to move important organisational goals forward.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
... - Assisting in project management and coordination activities, including monitoring and reviewing program and project activities against plans.
- Contributing to the development and management of project plans and schedules in accordance with the organisation's project management framework.
- Performing research and analysis, and contributing to the preparation of reports on project activities.
- Contributing to regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
- Drafting a range of written material, such as business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
- Monitoring project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure, and assisting with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues, and benefits.
- Collaborating with team members to achieve project and business outcomes.
Skills and Experience
We're looking for a candidate with:
- A strong understanding of agile project management methodology.
- The ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision as an effective member of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in initiating, establishing, and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reporting, and presentations.
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to work well with stakeholders and manage expectations.
- Well-developed Microsoft 365 Skills (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Microsoft Planner)
- Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies.
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
- Government administration experience.
- Qualifications in either project management, government, or the social services field.
