About the Role
Looking for a role where your sharp attention to detail actually matters?
We are partnering with a federal government department to find an APS5 Case Manager / Assessor to join their team for the new financial year. Located in either Canberra or Brisbane, this role is perfect for a process-driven professional who loves investigating data, interpreting guidelines, and ensuring absolute compliance.
If you have a legal, contract, or compliance background (you don't need to be a lawyer!) and want to sink your teeth into meaningful work, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage Cases: Drive assessments from end-to-end in a highly structured, process-orientated environment.
Investigate & Research: Look beyond the surface, gathering evidence and scrutinising data to make evidence-based recommendations.
Tech & Systems: Track cases, maintain meticulous records, and manage data daily using MS Excel and SharePoint.
Uphold Legislation: Interpret complex contracts and guidelines to ensure every decision is watertight.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate loves structure, takes pride in accuracy, and brings the following:
✔️ A Legal/Compliance Lens: A background in law, paralegal work, contract administration, or policy is highly advantageous.
✔️ Meticulous Eye for Detail: You catch the things others miss and take pride in quality output.
✔️ Critical Thinking: Strong research skills and the ability to problem-solve logically.
✔️ System Savvy: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and SharePoint.
✔️ Case History: Prior experience in a case management or federal government environment is a massive plus.
The Logistics & Vetting
Location: Must be based in Canberra or Brisbane.
Onboarding: Aiming for a Monday, 10 August start date.
Clearances: Because quality and compliance are paramount, you must be willing to undergo thorough vetting, including comprehensive reference checks and a National Police Check (which takes up to 15 days to process).
