APS5 and APS6 Project Officer
Location: Geelong
Contract Type: 12-month contract with potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55.24/Hourly - $60.26/Hourly + Super
Eligibility: Australian Citizenship required
Randstad is currently partnering with a large federal government organisation to recruit for APS5 and APS 6 project officers.
The Role
As a Project Officer, you will assist with project management and coordination activities, including monitoring and reviewing project activities against plans. You'll contribute to the development of project plans and schedules, draft various written materials like business cases and executive briefs, and assist with reporting on project activities. The work helps the business better understand its operations to improve outcomes for all stakeholders.

... - Government Experience is Essential: You must have demonstrated experience working within a government administration and project environment.
- Project Management Knowledge: You must have a strong understanding of project management frameworks and methodologies. An understanding of agile project methodology is also required.
- Communication & Stakeholder Skills: You'll need advanced communication skills and the ability to work well with stakeholders and manage their expectations.
- Proficiency with Technology: You should have well-developed Microsoft 365 skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Planner. You must also be able to use computer and software applications, including the organisation's business systems.
- Organisational Skills: You must be able to meet critical deadlines.
APS5 Project Officer
The APS5 Project Officer role involves performing moderately complex to complex work under limited supervision. You will be required to undertake procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks. You will also:
- Provide procedural guidance and technical expertise.
- Assist with project management and coordination.
- Assist with monitoring project budgets.
- Assist with the identification and management of project risks, issues and benefits.
APS6 Project Officer
The APS6 Project Officer role requires a proactive and highly organised individual with strong project management skills. You will be accountable for leading and supporting projects under limited direction. You will also:
- Provide advice, procedural guidance and technical expertise in specific areas of project work.
- Monitor project budgets, review and report on expenditure.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues and benefits.
- Possess at least 2 years of project management experience.
