A rewarding opportunity exists within the Records Operations team of a key Australian Public Service agency dedicated to serving the veteran and defence community. We are seeking a detail oriented and self motivated individual to contribute to the effective management of important records.
In this role, your responsibilities will involve the meticulous preparation of both physical and digital records for long term preservation. You will actively participate in the digitisation process, ensuring accuracy through quality control measures and the efficient transfer of digital files. The role also includes the practical aspect of manual handling of boxes, managing the team's shared mailbox, and providing support on various projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake the digitisation of departmental records in response to requests and from external collections.
- Locate and access records held at external storage facilities.
- Generate spreadsheets and verify data integrity for digital transfers.
- Conduct quality checks on digitised records and rectify any identified errors.
- Transcribe information from older record lists.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including moving and organising physical boxes and files within the repository.
- Assist with the administration of the team's shared email inbox.
- Contribute to team projects as directed by the team leader and management.
Ideal Candidate:
You will demonstrate a strong commitment to accuracy, possess excellent self drive, and be a collaborative team player. While not essential, prior experience in records management procedures or familiarity with preservation standards would be beneficial.

- Please note this is an office based role located in Sydney and flexible working arrangements are not available.
