Administration Officer – Asset & Security Management

The Opportunity

...The Asset & Security Management Unit (ASMU) within the State Government Health Sector is seeking an efficient and responsive Administration Officer. In this role, you will be a critical link in ensuring our hospital and facility building assets are effectively maintained to support high-quality healthcare delivery across South Australia. You will work closely with senior staff and external contractors to deliver outstanding, customer-focused business support services.
What You Will Be Doing
As a key member of our facilities team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Facilities Interface: Serve as the operational link between the health unit and the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) service provider.
- Maintenance & Work Orders: Review, raise, or reject breakdown and minor work requests using facility management systems.
- Financial Oversight: Review and investigate financial claims and invoices from service providers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Site & Contractor Support: Manage the distribution of contractor site proximity cards/keys and facilitate contractor site inductions.
- Records & Reporting: Maintain secure paper and electronic asset registries and generate compliance reports.
What We Are Looking For
We want someone who is proactive, collaborative, and can handle competing priorities with minimal supervision. You should have a sharp eye for detail, strong financial tracking capabilities, and the resilience to stay calm and outcome-focused under pressure.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
- Communication: Highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to build trust with staff, clients, and external contractors.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to recognise problems, formulate solutions, and autonomously prioritise workloads.
- Relevant Experience: Extensive experience providing comprehensive asset management support services within a complex environment (healthcare setting highly regarded).
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated experience negotiating matters of significance and monitoring the performance of service providers/contractors.
- WHS Knowledge: A strong understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislative requirements and public sector management standards.
Special Condition: Appointment is subject to a current, satisfactory National Criminal History Check.
