Introduction:
We are currently recruiting a temporary Accounts Officer for the Inventory and Cost team for a leading hospitality business. They are a leading name in the industry and show significant growth by offering world class services to their customers. You will report to the Senior Cost Analyst.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and report any obsolete or slow-moving stock items.
- Collaborate with operations teams to investigate and resolve stock variances, including conducting recounts when necessary.
- Accurately record all inventory movements in both the MICROS system and manual logs.
- Reconcile inventory balances with the general ledger in line with financial control policies.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate recipe costings for all food and beverage items.
- Review menu pricing and costing in collaboration with relevant department heads to ensure profitability.
- Monitor adherence to internal cost control procedures and highlight any areas of non-compliance.
- Support the preparation of monthly cost of sales reports for food and beverage operations.
- Contribute to month-end processes including account reconciliations and reporting.
- Ensure all financial records are supported by appropriate documentation and maintained in an audit-ready state.
- Undertake ad hoc financial analysis, reports, and special projects as directed.

- Proven experience as an Accounts Officer/ Cost Controller or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cert IV in Accounting) would be an advantage.
- Studying towards CA/ CPA
